Ceramic Coating

Extreme gloss. Hydrophobic protection. Easier washing. Professional-grade coatings that last 2-5 years. Starting at $1,795.

What Is Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your paint's clear coat. Once cured, it creates a permanent (or semi-permanent) layer of protection. It's not a wax. It's not a sealant. It's a chemical bond that becomes part of your paint's surface.

The coating is hydrophobic (water-repelling). Rain beads up and rolls off. Dirt has less surface area to stick to. Washing becomes easier—contamination wipes off with less effort. The gloss is insane. Your paint looks wet even when dry.

We apply professional-grade coatings from brands like GYEON, Ceramic Pro, and IGL Coatings. These aren't consumer products you buy at AutoZone. They're installer-only formulations that require training and controlled environments to apply correctly.

Why Ceramic Coating?

Extreme Gloss

Ceramic adds depth and clarity to your paint. Colors look richer. Metallic flake pops. Black cars look like mirrors. The gloss is noticeably better than wax.

Hydrophobic Properties

Water beads up and rolls off. Dirt, mud, and grime have less surface to stick to. Your car stays cleaner longer. When you do wash it, contamination comes off easier.

Chemical Protection

Bird droppings, bug splatter, tree sap—these eat paint over time. Ceramic coating is chemically resistant. Contaminants sit on the coating, not the paint. Easier to remove, less damage.

UV Protection

Florida sun destroys paint. UV rays fade and oxidize clear coat. Ceramic coating has UV blockers that slow this process. Your paint stays vibrant longer.

Easier Maintenance

Washing takes half the time. Drying is faster (water sheets off). You can go longer between washes without the car looking dirty. Less work, better results.

What Ceramic Coating Is NOT

❌ NOT scratch-proof

Ceramic is microns thick. It won't prevent key scratches or shopping cart dings. It has some scratch resistance (better than wax), but it's not armor. For physical protection, use PPF.

❌ NOT self-cleaning

You still need to wash your car. Ceramic makes washing easier, not unnecessary. Dirt still accumulates. You just clean it off faster.

❌ NOT a replacement for paint correction

Ceramic locks in whatever's underneath. If your paint has swirls and scratches, they'll still be there—just glossier. We recommend paint correction before coating.

❌ NOT permanent

Ceramic coating lasts years, not forever. Eventually it wears down and needs reapplication. Budget 2-5 years depending on product and maintenance.

Application Process

1

Deep Cleaning

Thorough wash. Wheel and tire cleaning. Decontamination with clay bar and iron remover. Paint has to be spotless before correction.

2

Paint Correction

Machine polishing to remove swirls, scratches, and oxidation. Light correction on newer cars. Heavy correction on older/neglected paint. You want perfect paint before coating.

3

Panel Wipe

Isopropyl alcohol wipe to remove all polishing oils and residue. Surface must be chemically clean for coating to bond properly.

4

Coating Application

Panel-by-panel application. Small amounts, even coverage. Buff/level before it flashes. Multiple layers depending on package. Can't rush this—one mistake ruins the panel.

5

Curing

Coating needs 12-48 hours to cure (depending on product). Car stays in our shop, climate-controlled, untouched. No water contact during cure time.

6

Final Inspection

Quality check. Make sure coating is level, no high spots. You get maintenance instructions and warranty documentation.

Maintaining Your Coating

✓ Hand wash or touchless car wash only

Automatic car washes with brushes will create micro-scratches over time. Hand wash is best. Touchless is acceptable.

✓ Use pH-neutral soap

Harsh soaps can degrade the coating. Use car wash soap designed for ceramic coatings. We'll recommend specific products.

✓ Dry with microfiber towels

Water spots can etch coating if left to dry. Dry the car after washing. Microfiber towels or blower work best.

✓ Apply booster spray every 3-6 months

Most coatings have maintenance boosters (spray-on toppers). They refresh hydrophobicity and add gloss. Takes 15 minutes.

✓ No wax or polish on top

Wax sits on top of coating and prevents it from working. Don't apply traditional wax. Use coating-specific maintenance products only.

Ceramic Coating + Other Services

PPF + Ceramic Coating

The ultimate combo. PPF for physical protection (rock chips, scratches). Ceramic on top for gloss and hydrophobic properties. PPF stays cleaner, lasts longer, looks better.

Popular with exotic car owners

Wrap + Ceramic Coating

Ceramic over vinyl wrap adds gloss, protection, and easier cleaning. Matte wraps with ceramic get a unique "frozen" sheen while staying hydrophobic.

Save 15% when bundled with full wrap

Wheels + Glass Coating

Ceramic coating works on more than paint. Wheels stay cleaner (brake dust wipes off). Glass repels water (acts like RainX, but permanent).

Common Questions

What is ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your paint and creates a protective layer. It's not a wax or sealant—it's a semi-permanent chemical bond. Think of it as a sacrificial layer that protects your paint while adding gloss and making it hydrophobic (water repels off).

How long does ceramic coating last?

Depends on the product. Entry-level coatings last 1-2 years. Professional-grade coatings (what we use) last 2-5 years. Some ultra-premium coatings claim 7-10 years, but that's with perfect maintenance.

Do I still need to wash my car?

Yes. Ceramic coating makes washing easier (dirt doesn't stick as hard), but it doesn't make washing unnecessary. It's not a self-cleaning force field. You still need to wash, but less often and with less effort.

Will ceramic coating prevent scratches?

No. Ceramic coating is microns thick. It adds some scratch resistance (better than wax), but it won't stop shopping carts or key scratches. For physical protection, you want PPF. Ceramic is for gloss, hydrophobicity, and chemical protection.

Can I apply ceramic coating myself?

Technically yes, but not recommended. Improper application creates high spots (streaks that don't buff out). Paint correction is usually needed first. Professional application costs more but looks better and lasts longer.

Does ceramic coating work on wraps?

Yes. Ceramic coating over vinyl wrap adds gloss and makes cleaning easier. Popular combo: matte wrap with ceramic coating gives it a "frozen" sheen while still being hydrophobic.

What's the difference between ceramic coating and wax?

Wax sits on top of paint and washes off in 1-3 months. Ceramic coating bonds to the paint and lasts years. Wax gives some gloss. Ceramic gives extreme gloss and hydrophobic properties. Ceramic is permanent, wax is temporary.

Is Ceramic Coating Worth It?

If you want easier maintenance: Yes. Ceramic coating cuts wash time in half. Water sheets off. Dirt wipes away with less effort. For people who wash their car weekly, the time savings add up.

If you want maximum gloss: Yes. The depth and clarity ceramic adds is noticeable. Your paint will look better than it ever has—even better than new.

If you want scratch protection: No. Get PPF instead. Ceramic won't stop physical damage. It's for chemical protection and aesthetics.

If you never wash your car: Probably not. Ceramic doesn't eliminate washing. If you're okay with a dirty car, ceramic won't change that.

If you have nice paint worth protecting: Yes. Florida weather destroys paint. Ceramic slows that down significantly.
