Paint Protection Film (PPF)

Clear, self-healing film that protects your paint from rock chips and scratches. Invisible armor. Starting at $1,995.

What Is Paint Protection Film?

Paint protection film (PPF), also called clear bra, is a transparent urethane film applied to your car's painted surfaces. It's like a sacrificial layer between your paint and the world. Rock chips? They hit the film. Bug splatter? Wipes off the film. Scratches? Minor ones heal themselves.

Modern PPF has self-healing properties. Light scratches disappear with heat—either from the sun or a heat gun. Swirl marks from bad car washes? Gone. Shopping cart dings? Protected. It's not magic, it's chemistry.

We install PPF on enthusiast vehicles: Teslas, Porsches, BMWs, Range Rovers, Corvettes. Any car where you want the paint to stay perfect. Florida roads are brutal on paint. PPF is insurance.

Why Install PPF?

Prevents Rock Chips

Highway driving shreds paint. Rocks, gravel, debris—it's constant. PPF absorbs impacts that would chip your paint. Florida has terrible roads. PPF is mandatory here.

Self-Healing Scratches

Premium PPF has a clear coat layer that heals minor scratches with heat. Park in the sun, scratches fade. Apply heat gun, they vanish. Not all damage heals, but most surface scratches do.

Maintains Resale Value

Perfect paint = higher resale value. PPF keeps your paint in new condition. When you sell, you can leave it on (buyers love it) or remove it to reveal perfect paint underneath.

Invisible Protection

Quality PPF is virtually invisible. No orange peel, no haze, no yellowing. On gloss paint, you can't tell it's there. It just looks like really good paint.

Florida Weather Proof

UV protection, acid rain resistance, bug splatter cleanup. Florida throws everything at your paint. PPF takes the abuse.

Common Questions

What is paint protection film?

PPF is a clear, urethane film applied to painted surfaces to protect against rock chips, scratches, bug splatter, and road debris. Think of it as invisible armor. High-end films have self-healing properties that make minor scratches disappear with heat.

How long does PPF last?

Quality PPF lasts 7-10 years. Premium films typically come with a 2-5 year manufacturer warranty. Florida sun and heat are tough, but good PPF holds up.

Will PPF yellow over time?

Not quality films. Cheap PPF from 2010 would yellow. Modern premium films (XPEL, 3M, SunTek) have UV blockers that prevent yellowing. We only use films with no-yellow warranties.

Can you see PPF on the car?

Barely. On gloss paint, PPF is virtually invisible. On matte paint, you might see a slight shine difference at certain angles. Most people can't tell it's there unless you point it out.

Does PPF protect against scratches?

Yes, but not all scratches. PPF protects against light scratches (keys, shopping carts, automated car washes). Deep scratches that would gouge paint will still damage PPF. Self-healing works on minor surface scratches—heat from the sun or a heat gun makes them disappear.

Can I wrap over PPF?

Yes. Install PPF first, then wrap over it. That's actually the ideal setup: PPF protects the paint, wrap protects the PPF and changes the color. Best of both worlds.

How do I maintain PPF?

Hand wash or touchless car wash. Wax or ceramic coating safe (actually recommended). Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive brushes. PPF is more durable than your paint—it takes care of itself.

What areas should I protect?

Minimum: front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors. That's where you get the most rock chips. Full front clip adds headlights and grille. Some people do full car for total protection.

Is PPF Worth It?

If you drive on highways: Yes. Rock chips are inevitable. PPF prevents them. One chip repair costs $150-300. PPF pays for itself.

If you care about resale value: Yes. Perfect paint is worth thousands more. Buyers will pay premium for PPF-protected vehicles.

If you have an expensive car: Yes. The nicer the car, the more sense PPF makes. $5,000 to protect a $100,000 car is cheap insurance.

If you lease: Absolutely yes. Return it with perfect paint. Avoid lease-end damage fees.

If you garage queen it: Maybe not. If you drive 2,000 miles/year and never see highways, skip it.
